1: A bank of machines in the mill.

2: Mill workman with machinery on the right, there is a lot of waste material around the machinery and on the floor.

3: Bales of wool stored in the mill to be used in the manufacture of cloth.

4: An operative performing a process called Brushing on fabric

5: Two operatives are involved in the process of cloth milling.

6: An operative is working at the scribbling machine.
Scribbling prepares the wool for spinning and includes the carding process which teases out the fibres.

7: An engineer is applying oil to the steam driven engine, the photographer was probably E E Slater.
In addition to being a keen amateur photographer he was a manager at Manor Mill which would have given him every opportunity to take photos there.

8: Hoppers of raw wool waiting to be fed into the scribbling machine. E E Slater probably took this image as a glass slide.

Poor quality image of a joiner at the mill, probably taken on a glass slide by E E Slater.
A number of the slides were abandoned and suffered damage before they were retrieved and donated to the AHS some time in the past.

My husband worked at both Manor and Leafield Mills for many years, and
says the top picture, of the carding machines, must be Leafield, not
Manor, as the rooms at the Manor were no-where big enough for so many
machines.

Comment 2 mentions "waste" material. This is part of the production process, in the willey house, blending wools etc for the finished product, and is not "waste"
