Bancroft House is at the top of Henshaw Lane, the Tarn public house is on the right edge.
It was at some time the home of James Denison.
It is now used as commercial premises, a sign on the building is for Airedale Glass and Glazing, Bancroft Works.
The works were next used by Jim Armitage and Roger Barrett, partners in a double glazing business.
Next Franklin Windows Ltd before they moved to a unit on Cemetery Road.
Since then the building has been used by several companies.




Bancroft house was the wartime home of the 30th battallion Duke of Wellingtons regt Home Guard.

This is not Bancroft house but the building above it which was occupied by Pilkington's Tinsmiths in the thirties and Arthur Moule used to run a betting shop on the top floor when betting on horses was illegal.
