The old Prince Henry's Grammar School is located on Manor Square, a former pupil was the famed furniture maker Thomas Chippendale who was born in Otley in 1718.

The school was established in 1607 and survived until 1874 when it was closed in this site.

The present PHGS opened on Farnley Lane in 1927.

The road is busy with horse drawn vehicles, on the right corner is Pratt's chemists shop. In recent years the old school has been used as a china shop, art gallery and is currently (2018) the Stew & Oyster Bar.
