Esholt is a small village near Guiseley, a Priory was built in the lower section of Esholt which remained until 1547.
A Medieval manor house, Esholt Old Hall still survives, a new hall was built on the site of the Priory by Walter Calverley in Queen Anne style.
This house, with the rest of the estate was sold to Bradford City Council and is now owned by Yorkshire Water who operate a sewerage treatment plant there.
The village was used as the location for the television serial "Emmerdale" until a permanent set was built on the Harewood estate.
Many tourists still visit the village, this image is of the Main Street.

Happy memories of walks through Cragg Wood Rawdon and down to Esholt to see the pretty village and church lovely part of Yorkshire.
