New Baptist College At Rawden

The Friends of the Baptist College at Horton are intending to move the institution to Rawden.

They have obtained a site at Cragg Wood on the Acacia estate. The College committee some time ago advertised for plans and have recently had before them  no fewer than 44 plans presented by architects in various parts of the county and the committee have this week made their award, giving the first premium of £50 to Mr J H Paull of Cardiff and the second of £25 to Messrs Lockwood and Mawson of Bradford.

The plan of Mr Paull, which will be adopted, will afford accommodation for 25 resident students and a principal.

The style of the college partakes of the Tudor but the details are strictly original.

The building will stand near the edge of the plateau at the top of Cragg Wood and with its broad facade  will present a bold appearance from the valley of the Aire.

The estimated cost is £6,000.
