     "Baptist Chapel Rawden, The Rev. T Holmes of Horton College, Bradford has accepted a unanimous call to be pastor of the Baptist church and congregation at Rawden.

     Independent Chapel, Benton Park, Rawden - The Rev. J H Barrow was "inducted" the first minister of this place of worship on Wednesday last.

The Rev. Dr Hamilton of Leeds, the Rev. John Kelly of Liverpool, the Rev. T Scales of Leeds, the Rev. Walter Scott and the Rev. H Bean took part in the ceremonies.

     On the conclusion of the morning services, the ministers and friends from a distance to the number of 100 were hospitably entertained in the adjoining schoolroom by Mr Henry Forbes Esq.

In the evening the Rev. J Glendenning of Huddersfield preached an able discourse in the new chapel"

In the Cragg Baptist 250 year celebration booklet the Revd. Holmes is named Robert, his years of service being 1847 to 1874, the latter when he resigned.
Robert Holmes born 1822 in Bingley and died in Otley, 1892.
