1: A group of St John Ambulance volunteers with two shields, the photo is defaced on the right.
The location is thought to be Busfield's Mill

2:  The location for this photo was the White Swan cricket ground, the chimney of Moorfield Mill is in the background.
The group of St John Ambulance volunteers include, on the back row, on the right Robinson Walker (1893-1956) he was the Uncle of the donor of this image.
In the middle row, second from left is Mary Ann Hardwick (nee Swailes) of Walkers Row, a well known local nurse and midwife.
Her daughter Elsie is on the right of the front row, she was engaged to marry Robinson Walker.

3: A group of St John Ambulance members, in the centre, not in uniform and sat down is Dr Bett.
4: The donor of this photo, Mavis Dowker, supplied the following names :
Elsie Hudson, Olivia Light, Doreen King, Doris Lawson, Dr. Bett, Mavis Dowker, Dennis Pearson, Betty Ramsden, Esther Cawthorn, Lonnie Wagstaf, Barbara Pearson, M Fowler, M Noble, Lilian Fickling and Mary Ward.

5: Late 1950s Image donated by Melvyn Wray  who told us that Christine Marshall is the girl on the extreme right.
In the background is a stand which suggests the group were attending an event.

6: July 1969: St John's Ambulance Brigade garden party, a group which includes E G Allerton the Chairman of Aireborough Urban District Council are having their photo taken.


in photograph 1 the man next to the defaced one was Claud or Laurence Light who lived in Varley's fold at the time i remember the family very well
