A view of Harrogate Road showing the old Murgatroyd factory and if I am not mistaken a Vauxhall car, somebody is going to tell me which model it is I know.
  • Photographer Charles Lideard donated by his daughter Christine Hogg.
  • Douglas G Greenfield Victor it is

  • Howard Chadwick Victor FB or VX490 both versions of Vauxhall Victor

Ian Wray Sorry to be a geek, but I think this is the VX4/90 derivative. Sporty version with twin carbs, and alloy high compression head, distinguishable by the trim panel running along the side of the car. My dad owned one at this time and funnily enough we lived just off the picture to the right, on Victoria Close. Ours was white though and I think this one is blue.

David Wooler Looks like a Victor to me, my Dad had a 1958 smoke Grey one - with lots of chrome. Only when we got it home did my Dad (Ken) notice reg no was XKW454 !!! He sold Car with Reg for £125 frown emoticon

    Douglas G Greenfield Victor ?

Jane McConomy I think you're right! We had a Cresta, which was slightly bigger and squarer.

    Douglas G Greenfield Or Velux
  • Brian Firth Vauxhall Victor VX4/90
