Edwy looks after the digital combining of text and photographs, which create an invaluable back up to our main system and importantly the photos and text you see at the Chit Chat events.
2: Archive Team AHS, Yeadon. March 2014
The Archive Room is located in room 27, Yeadon Town Hall, all the records, documents and photos in the AHS collection are stored here.
On Monday afternoons (except Bank Holidays) it is open 1.30pm - 3.30pm.
Seen here on the left is Howard German who has contributed images to the site and catalogues 35mm slides digitally.
Christine Lovedale is on the right and researches information for the images and writes the text to go with the images for Facebook and the website as well as cataloging our finer more delicate artifacts.
3: This is Vera Firth who for many years has been a member of the AHS and contributed to the maintenance of the archive collection along side Bob Girt who sadly is no longer with us.
The Archive section of AHS relies heavily on long term volunteers such as Vera for continuity and dedication.
Court and Jean Dean sorting and listing documents. They have both spent their
lives in the area and contribute valuable information.
5: Linda Storey and Edwy Harling, they both work on computers creating an on-line index for the archive collection.
Edwy also contributes modern images for the website, essential for the future records of how things were at this time.
Linda along with new volunteer Elaine also is in the middle of cataloguing and placing into albums several thousand of our Archive photographs.
6: An area of ceiling in the archive room at Yeadon Town Hall, the hole appeared after plaster had fallen off causing the whole area of the ceiling to be unsafe.
Until it is repaired AHS team have no access to the archive room.
This took several weeks to be repaired and was finally done thanks to the intervention of Stewart Andrews.
