Worked there in 60s it was a great place with Mr and Mrs Stokes and Mary Armitage and dear Mr Knott.
I worked in the office full time during the day and cash desk in the evenings and weekends. I had so many different tasks to perform one of which was those checked table cloths shown in the these photos. Sure in 1990 they weren't the same ones! Cloths were changed regularly throughout the long days we were open. On Mondays it was my job to go down in the cellars and count out all the white cloths and coloured cloths put them in huge wicker hampers fill out a book with quantities and they were collected by Yeadon Laundry who then returned them all clean and starched on a Friday for me to put away on racks. We had stacks of them! They were very happy days my main friends there were the Robinsons Jim worked nights preparing and cleaning and his wife Dorothy was a cleaner and my lovely friend their daughter Margaret who was a waitress and later her husband Sam Binns-Hall worked there too. We had some amazing times there and ate fish and chips every work day in the staff room up some really narrow steps to the upstairs staff room, those days were the best!
