Top: The donor of this photo Chrales North gave the following description
overgrown strip of land which stretched from the White Cross Hotel's stone
outbuilding on the right and along Bradford Road to Magnet's car park .
land was for many years occupied by a company selling greenhouses and for a few
years before becoming derelict was used by a second hand car dealership.

Bottom: An old stone outbuilding which had stood on the left adjacent to the White
Cross Hotel has been demolished and preparations for new retail developments on
the site are underway.
