The Midland Railway line through Esholt was opened in 1876, the viaduct has 7 arches and dominates the approach to Esholt village from Old Hollins Hill.
The station at Esholt was closed in 1940 and demolished in 1953.

This Viaduct reminds me of many nice car rides through Esholt from old Hollings Hill and along the river to Baildon and then over the moors to Hawksworth and back through Guiseley .My Wife loved this ride even when she was in the advanced stages of alzhiemers
