     "West Riding Magistrates Office, Leeds

On Tuesday John Dawson, John Winter, John Maddox and James Thomas were brought up for further examination before Chris. Beckett Esq. John Blayds Esq. and the Rev. Geo. Lewthwaite, charged with having broken into two counting-houses at Yeadon on the 20th January and stealing therefrom a variety of articles.

      The parties were fully committed for trial at Pontefract sessions for each offence.

They have also been fully committed for trial at Leeds Sessions by the Borough Magistrates for committing a street robbery, attending with personal violence a fortnight ago, near the Vicar's Croft in Leeds, on which occasion they rifled their victim's pockets of £14".
